Zelgor, an interactive entertainment company, has acquired Mixie, a blockchain-native platform. The purchase will enable Zelgor to make its expansive virtual universe even bigger and better while helping the company enhance its Web3 gaming prowess. Mixie’s infrastructure offering, plug-and-play tools for Web3 gaming, creator media, and decentralized community engagement.
Zelgor is perhaps best known for building out a virtual universe beyond its distinct media franchise, the Noobs. The Noobs includes an alien army of goofball invaders swooping across the galaxy. The company's investors include prominent figures such as Tim Draper, Kai Huang (co-creator of Guitar Hero), and the founders of Napster.
Formerly of successful games such as The Sims, Bioshock Infinite and Dungeons & Dragons Online, the Zelgor team has tons of proven talent. This experience will be key in helping us execute on Mixie’s technology in the right way. Mixie comes with a powerful ecosystem featuring an AI-assisted, no-code game engine.
